Flourish Education are seeking a Year 1 Teacher, to work in a Good Ofsted-rated Primary School in Worcester. This Year 1 Teacher position is to Teach a mixed Reception/Year 1 class, starting after Easter until the end of the academic year, with potential to continue into the new academic year, covering a maternity leave. 

Our client is a small Primary School, located in the outskirts of Worcester. The ideal candidate would be able to manage behaviour in the class effectively, have strong phonics experience and be able to deploy Teaching Assistants to best support the pupils within the class. 

If you are an experience Early Years (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1) Teacher, this role would be ideal for you!

As a Year 1 Teacher, you will be responsible for:

  • Full class teaching responsibilities for a mixed Reception and Year 1 class, including planning and marking.
  • Delivering differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum and the Birth to Five Framework.
  • Deploying Teaching Assistants effectively to support pupils' learning and development.
  • Maintaining excellent behaviour management strategies to ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and parents to enhance student outcomes.
  • Assessing, tracking, and reporting on pupil progress.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching in Early Years (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1).
  • Strong phonics knowledge and the ability to deliver effective phonics teaching.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills.
  • Experience as a Class Teacher in a Primary School setting.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons.
  • Willing to uphold a full class teacher position and be committed to the role.
