We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care assistant to provide essential support to individuals in their own homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, assisting them with daily activities while promoting independence and dignity. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans meticulously.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support clients with mobility and transfers as needed.
  • Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and preferences outlined in care plans.
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health status.
  • Document daily activities and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all equipment is used safely.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.

Experience

  • Previous experience in home care or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow them accurately is advantageous.
  • A valid driving licence is desirable for transporting clients or running errands as required.
  • Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with clients and team members.
  • IT skills are beneficial for maintaining records and documentation related to client care.
