Manpower is recruiting a Commissioning and Decommissioning Coordinator on behalf of our public sector client.

Location: Merthyr Tydfil

Contract: Temporary

Duration: 12 months from 17 March 2025

Job type: Full time

Hours: 8.30 am - 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday

Hourly rate: 13.57

The Role
You will be responsible for planning daily driver routes and logistics in the morning, ensuring efficient transportation operations. In the afternoon, you will support the commissioning and decommissioning of vehicles, ensuring fleet readiness and smooth operational transitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan daily routes for thee drivers to ensure timely and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with drivers and other departments to address any potential issues with routes or logistics.
  • Monitor real-time traffic and weather conditions to make adjustments to routes as needed.
  • Communicate any changes or updates in logistics to the team promptly.
  • Unpack and stock and equipment to and from fleet vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory in each vehicle and notify the team of any discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure vehicles are in good condition after equipment unloading and loading.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience in logistics or fleet administration.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work efficiently with attention to detail
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • C1 category on your UK driving licence (is highly desirable)


The role is subject to satisfactory reference checks and standard DBS check. Manpower pays for the cost of the DBS.
