Laboratory Team Leader - Manufacturing - Rhondda Cynon Taff - £30 - £35k DOE plus benefits

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing company who are experiencing significant growth at their site based in Rhondda Cynon Taff. The Laboratory Team Leader will play a vital role in the daily management of the Laboratory on site, with reference to the testing of incoming, in process and finished product.

Salary: £30 - £35k DOE plus excellent benefits

Location: Rhondda Cynon Taff

Hours of work: 37.5 hour working week

Laboratory Team Leader Responsibilities:

  • To ensure testing of materials is carried out in a timely manner, supporting the site to ensure product conformity and OTIF.
  • Ensure compliance with HS legislation and requirements, taking part in risk assessments for the area.
  • Support the Site in its compliance with ISO9001 and other international or customer quality standards. Support the site in waste reduction and scrap reduction process, including energy consumption.
  • Carry out analysis of incoming test data for compounds from suppliers to support the maintenance of supplier specifications and track trends in material changes. In addition, checks on material shelf life to be carried out.
  • Ensure external manufactured parts are tested as part of verification and validation of shipments against standards, highlighting where deviation occurs.
  • Support the technical team in carrying out testing of development materials.
  • Participate in and lead root cause analysis activities in response to internal and external concerns.
  • Develop systems to improve the processing of data in the laboratory area, to ensure ease of access and use.

The successful candidate:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with Customers and Suppliers.
  • Able to achieve agreed objectives and deadlines.
  • Problem solving skills using a structured approach and recognised tools.
  • Good time management to ensure multiple actions are achieved.
  • Experience in a Team Leader role in a Laboratory environment.
  • Qualified in a Scientific discipline to degree level or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving licence
