Position: NPD Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Aberdare, Merthyr Tydfil, Ebbw Vale, Pontypridd

Industry: Manufacturing

Salary: 35,000 to 45,000 DOE

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, Days regular

Duties:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing the systems and processes required for introduction of new products or improving existing products systems and processes.

Requirements of the role:

  • Working as part of a project team liaising with design, production, supply chain and quality departments to deliver projects on time and to a high-quality standard.
  • Identifying improvements in manufacturing processes and managing projects to implement process improvements
  • Lead the team in the achievement of the operational KPIs and budgeted requirements
  • Identifying improvements in manufacturing processes and managing projects to implement process improvements
  • Support the safe and effective use of people and equipment to achieve the daily/ weekly/ monthly production plan.
  • Work in conjunction with the Planning department to the TOC process to meet the requirements of the capacity plan in the optimal way.
  • Ensure all processes have been risk assessed and the appropriate work instructions for the safe operation are specified.
  • Ensure that operators are trained to the specified work instruction.
  • Ensure manufacturing operation is compliant with the relevant legislation and TT roadmaps.
  • Participate in the HS&E committee meetings and departmental inspections.

Qualifications:

  • HNC/ HND or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Fundamental knowledge of DFMEA / PFMEA to influence Product definition / final form manufacture
  • Experience of manipulating and viewing 3D CAD data to extract information
  • Ability to interpret 2D drawings
  • Excellent knowledge of design for assembly/manufacture methodology
  • A clear understanding of how a manufacturing process should be configured to ensure stable and effective outputs.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement lean improvements in a structured way to continually improve the manufacturing performance.
  • Ability to identify and implement new technologies to add value to the existing processes.
