Multi Skilled Maintenance EngineerLlantrisant£40,000Monday to Friday, 06:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 - 22:00

A leading food manufacturing business is seeking a Shift Engineer to join its engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering & Operations Manager, this role will support the site's performance through both proactive maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns, ensuring equipment is always running safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance in line with schedules and industry best practices
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to machinery and plant breakdowns, minimising downtime
  • Overhaul and repair equipment to ensure it is safe, operational, and fit for purpose
  • Assist with the design, installation, and relocation of machinery
  • Complete suitable risk assessments prior to maintenance activities
  • Work on single and three-phase electrical systems
  • Maintain and repair site facilities and services
  • Promote and adhere to site-wide Health & Safety practices and procedures
  • Communicate effectively across departments and escalate issues as required
  • Maintain accurate records via time/task sheets in accordance with site procedures
  • Provide out-of-hours support where required (on-call rota)

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Time-served apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Multi-skilled engineer - mechanical bias with strong electrical knowledge
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a food production environment
  • Good working knowledge of BRC standards
  • Holds a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Confident communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, reliable, and committed to continuous improvement
