Reed Finance are working with a well-established organisation based in Aberdeen seeking a qualified Management Accountant for a dynamic and forward-thinking company committed to providing high-quality financial and management information. They’re looking for a talented Management Accountant to join their team and contribute to their continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the provision of high-quality financial and management information and reports for improved decision-making and performance tracking.
  • Prepare and submit forecasts, management accounts, and narratives for assigned business entities, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Handle the preparation and submission of quarterly forecasts and annual budget submissions.
  • Maintain the integrity of the entities' nominal ledger.
  • Manage cash, reporting, and forecasting for assigned entities.
  • Assist in the completion of corporation tax packs for submission to the Group Tax Department.
  • Complete quarterly/bi-monthly VAT returns.
  • Enhance management information to reflect changing needs and drive the business forward.
  • Reconcile and report intercompany balances.
  • Reconcile fixed assets, including preparing capital sanctions for senior management.
  • Prepare statutory accounts.
  • Assist in improving, developing, and monitoring controls.
  • Produce and/or analyse detailed product costing and margin analysis within entities.
  • Calculate and set cost rates and perform labour analysis.
  • Provide cover and support for the department as needed, including assisting with month-end duties.
  • Analyse and report on trends, variances, and performance issues.
  • Report information to both local management and the PLC group as required.

Qualifications/Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Qualified Accountant or willingness to work towards a Professional Accountancy qualification.
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject area (e.g., Accountancy).
  • Demonstrated continuing professional development relevant to the accounting qualification and the role.
  • Proven post-qualifying experience and demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience of an ERP system, ideally Microsoft D365.
  • Full Driving Licence.
