Job Title: Lead Structural Engineer
Location: Aberdeen

Overview:
We currently have an opportunity for a Lead Structural Engineer to join the Civil, Structural & Architectural Group within our client's office to lead a CSA team on projects for a range of clients across the entire spectrum of energy, from existing oil and gas operators, re-purposing of existing infrastructure through carbon capture and electrification.
We are looking for enthusiastic and engaged engineers, willing to take on a technically challenging role. An ability to challenge the norm, create novel solutions and a desire to be involved in a wide range of potential work scope's is required.
This role is based in the Aberdeen office, with a minimum requirement for three days office attendance per week.

Responsibilities:
* Plan and prioritise own work and that of more junior staff so that parallel activities are all completed in a timely manner
* Coordinate design and delivery work being carried out by colleagues in our Global Integrated Delivery team.
* ensure that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental, and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is maintained.
* carry out engineering calculations and check the work of more junior staff to deliver a quality functional input to projects
* proactively generate value adding options within projects to offer to clients to improve both the chance of winning work and satisfaction with completed and ongoing work
* provide functional support and guidance to more junior staff to develop both them as individuals and the capability of the team as a whole
* keep abreast of current technology so that technical input to projects takes account of new developments.
* Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review.
* Maintain good communication with the client and carry out sites visits when necessary
* Ensure as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule.

Qualifications:
Qualifications / Experience:
* A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
* Experience in leading CSA teams on medium to large projects.

Skills
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, and make regular presentations.
* Effective technical and practical engineering skills, and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work.
* Pro-active, goal oriented with excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work on multiple projects of various size and complexity.
* Familiar with and competent in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting.
* Aware of commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of engineering.
* Ability to estimate man-hours and materials for delegated aspects of work.
