First Achieve's Engineering Division are hiring for a Project Engineer for their client in Aberdeen who because of recent growth, are looking to add to their team.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you will oversee projects from initial estimation to site commissioning, ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations 2015. You will liaise with clients, manage sub-contractors and suppliers, maintain HSEQ documentation, and make key commercial decisions to ensure the smooth execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects in compliance with CDM Regulations 2015
  • Estimate project costs based on customer requirements and specifications
  • Plan and oversee projects from initiation to completion
  • Prepare and maintain HSEQ documentation
  • Liaise with clients, conduct meetings, and provide regular reports
  • Oversee commercial aspects of projects
  • Conduct HSEQ site audits and compile reports
  • Coordinate and manage sub-contractors and site personnel
  • Ensure strict adherence to HSE ACOPs, company policies, and client specifications
  • Maintain a professional and safe working environment
  • Carry out any additional duties as requested by the Divisional Manager

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
  • Willingness to work away from home and undertake overtime when required

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant trade
  • 5+ years' experience in a mechanical, fabrication, or piping engineering environment (preferred)
  • Experience working on CDM work sites (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 (preferred)
  • Full clean driving license (preferred)

  • Adhere to HSEQ policies and procedures relevant to the job role
  • Only perform tasks for which you are trained and authorized
  • Report all accidents, near misses, and hazards immediately
