My client is seeking a Data Analyst with a strong background in chemistry and statistics to join their dynamic team. This role involves significant responsibility in project delivery, ensuring high standards of statistical analysis and modelling, and contributing to the continuous improvement of their processes.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assess and implement statistical methods to meet project milestones.
  • Manage project delivery, coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely execution.
  • Enhance existing statistical designs and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor project timelines and report any deviations to the management team.
  • Uphold high standards of code quality using version control tools.
  • Conduct rigorous review and scrutiny of statistical analyses and models.
  • Participate in and contribute to meetings with stakeholders as required.
  • Travel to various sites as needed for effective project implementation and to conduct training sessions.
  • Facilitate training sessions for team members in statistics and data science.
  • Provide expert advice in statistics and data science, including data analysis, experimental design, and process optimisation.
  • Communicate effectively within the team to ensure clarity on project directions, performance feedback, and strategies for improvement.
  • Develop and document models following a structured process, ensuring all work is test-driven and well-commented.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance the skills of the modelling team through structured training and development plans.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Data Science, Maths, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Proficient in data structuring, storage, and cleansing.
  • Skilled in statistical modelling, large-scale data analysis, and machine learning using R, Python, and MATLAB.
  • High level of IT literacy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Commercial awareness with negotiation skills for client interactions.
  • Exceptional focus on customer service and satisfaction.
