Senior Mechanical Engineer

To provide expert Mechanical Engineering in support of the design activities from concept design through to engineering release for manufacture.

  • Capacity to steer and lead solid technological solutions to challenging problems in mechanical design
  • Use a combination of traditional and finite element analysis techniques to carry out comprehensive design and stress analysis of pressure vessels and structures.
  • Create technical records to back up engineering design.
  • Provide mechanical engineering system design solutions, starting with schematics and moving up to complete system design solutions with calculation packs, robust design, and complete engineering delivery for manufacturing.
  • Verify adherence to pertinent design codes, laws, and requirements set forth by classification authorities.
  • Verify adherence to pertinent Pressure Equipment Regulations
  • Coordinate with classification third parties to plan and obtain design approvals, such as Lloyds Register and DNV.
  • Examine and accept engineering requirements and drawings.
  • Manage the production of concept and detailed engineering drawings, technical documentation, and draughtsmen and engineers.
  • Take part in internal and external design reviews.
  • Evaluate customer inquiries and offer technical engineering solutions as needed
  • Communicating with clients (internal and external) to ascertain their needs and guarantee that the best possible technical solution is offered.
  • Communicate with subcontractors who offer technical advice.
  • In charge of ensuring engineering solutions are delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Respect for engineering and business policies and procedures.
  • Manage and carry out modifications to engineering designs (ECN)
  • Examine and accept engineering requirements and drawings.

To be considered for this opportunity you must:

  • Proven Pressure Vessel design skills using PD5500, ASME VIII, EN 13445
  • Experienced in using ANSYS Workbench
  • Experienced in Pressure Vessel manufacturing techniques
  • Experienced in using Solidworks

Experience in:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a Pressure Vessel engineer role
  • Experience with PLM system for generating and storage of engineering packages
