Detailed Technician
Role
Technicians can fill a number of roles:
- Production Technician - Assembling, or taking from an Assembler an Electro-mechanical assembly then carrying out qualification testing. Responsible for testing boards used within the assembly, and may be required to carry out component level modifications. Transferrable skills across different products.
- Service/Repair Technician - As above for Production technician, but also has the Electronic knowledge and skills to investigate failures and carry out repairs. Likely to work closely with Engineering team to develop/improve tool design. Transferrable skills across different products.
- Process Technician - Skilled technician but non-electronic, fulfilling specific positions within the department.
Qualifications
Must have a good understanding of Electronic circuitry and test equipment. Level of understanding limits which role they would be suitable for.
Skills
Though ideally looking for the Assemblers to conduct most pre-test assembly work, there are requirements for Technicians to carry out Electro-mechanical assembly at the same high standards as Assemblers.
Has ideally worked in building/testing products to a defined high standard, using good solder skills (MIL/IPC class3). Does not have to be oilfield.
