Meraki Talent are partnering up with one of the largest and leading accountancy firms in Scotland and UK on the appointment of a Customs Advisor.Custom Advisor responsible for conducting post-clearance audits, tariff classification, and customs research, managing special procedures, liaising with HMRC, providing client advisories, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and supporting engagement administration and risk management.The CompanyOur client is one of the UK’s leading Accountancy firms with several offices across Scotland, England, and Ireland. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct post-clearance evaluations using client data, including MSS records.
  • Classify client products according to tariff regulations.
  • Prepare and submit post-clearance adjustments, including C285 and C2001, while addressing any related HMRC queries.
  • Support the administration of Customs special procedures, including compiling bills of discharge.
  • Carry out customs research, strategic tax planning, and develop supporting documentation for various customs-related projects.
  • Advise clients, analyse tax data, and respond to inquiries and concerns.

Previous Experience

  • Experience in customs compliance, international trade, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariff codes, and import/export processes.
  • Proficiency in relevant software or tools, eg. customs software.
