Activus Recruitment seeks an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our client's expanding team in Cove, Aberdeen.
Job Purpose
Responsible for safely and efficiently repairing and maintaining HGV and LGVs within workshops and off-site environments.
Main Tasks
- Carry out the safe and efficient servicing, fault diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of HGVs, LGVs, trailers, and powder tankers within workshops and off-site environments.
- Ensure all tools and equipment used for repairs and maintenance are checked, fit for purpose, and certificated where necessary.
- Before using any plant or equipment, e.g., forklifts, MEWPs, lifting ramps, lifting accessories, etc., ensure a daily check and the completion of the appropriate checksheet.
- Report any plant and equipment defects to the Site Manager / Fleet Manager.
- Ensure job sheets, inspection reports, timesheets, and all other department-related documentation are completed accurately and handed in on time.
- Ensure safe work systems are adhered to as laid down by the Health and Safety Policy, IMS, and Safety at Work Legislation.
- If and when required, training and guidance should be provided to other staff members.
- Act as an ambassador for the company, ensuring polite and courteous communication with visitors, customers, and staff.
