Our client an Irish based food company with over 50 years experience serving international markets, restaurants and household foodservice names with prime cuts of meat, on-trend foodservice solutions and ready-for-market convenience foods, currently have vacancies within their Slaughter room for Skilled and Unskilled Operatives.

We are looking for Skilled operatives, however we will also consider applications from those from a Food Production back ground i.e. Fish processing, Temperature control and any other food production environment.

This is a fulltime position working Monday to Friday 0600 - finish (minimum 40 hours per week).

Main duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Perform dressing and preparation of carcasses
  • Perform boning, butchering, trimming and finishing tasks at line speed
  • Processing beef and lamb at the required speed
  • Operate and maintain tools and machinery on the slaughter line
  • Splitting carcasses, skinning, passport checking (ID & Scan)
  • Trimming (fat, contamination, foreign bodies)
  • Completion of tasks in a timely manner to meet daily targets
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within your work area
  • Adhere to food safety standards during all stages of food production
  • Perform prestart, hygiene and safety checks
  • Store and maintain tools and equipment to company standard
  • Participate in any training required

Attributes, Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in culinary or kitchen environments is advantageous
  • Knowledge of food safety practices is desirable
