The role – IT Support Specialist

The salary - £27,000 - £32,000

The location – Aberdeen

This is an on-site role with some hybrid working possible once fully established in role.

I’m working with a fantastic organisation as they look to add an IT Support Specialist to act as the on-site point of contact for all IT support. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and a third party IT Managed Service Provider while overseeing all day-to-day IT support operations, ensuring that the internal IT offering meets the needs of the organisation.

This is a truly varied role that will be perfect for someone who likes to be hands-on, tackle a wide range of technologies and provide excellent support directly to clients.

Your day-to-day:

  • Be the first point of contact for internal staff seeking IT support, delivering on 1st and 2nd line support requirements.
  • Provide technical support across a range of software and hardware.
  • Escalating to the third party IT Managed Service Provider when required, liaising with this provider when needed to ensure a timely resolution to any escalated requirements.
  • Be a part of upgrade projects and hardware and software rollouts both within head office and to organisational sites around Scotland.
  • Coordinate technical training sessions to upskill employees.
  • Look at ways in which the organisations IT offering can be improved, providing input on technology innovations that can have a positive impact for the organisation.
  • Be a part of the organisations work towards achieving and maintaining ISO 27001 certified status.

About you:

  • Experience working within an IT support environment, ideally in an IT service desk or internal IT support role.
  • Experience with the full Microsoft stack including common applications, outlook, teams and sharepoint.
  • Experience with providing technical support to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Some experience with IT security would be desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
