Senior Design Engineer (Oil and Gas sector) working for a global designer and manufacturer of some of the industry’s most reliable and sought-after completions solutions in downhole technology and resource-based in Northeast Scotland. Working as part of a talented and highly experienced team of engineers, this role focuses on the overall setting of Engineering standards and processes. You will be responsible for the provision of technical draft drawings, the creation of new assemblies, the re-creating of disassembly equipment, and the redressing of procedures. As a Senior Design Engineer this client is looking to attract a candidate who is educated to bachelor’s degree Level in design/engineering with at least 10 years of previous, relevant design experience in the Oil and Gas sector. Ideally seeking an engineer with QHSE/API Q1 Awareness and experience gained working on product requirements to include API 11-D1, ANST and/or AWS. You will need to demonstrate previous knowledge of AutoCAD, CAD Works or/and SolidWorks, with an advanced knowledge of downhole manufacturing principles and methods. Your experience will demonstrate the completion steps involved in the removal of drill strings, casing, cementing, perforating and hydraulic fracturing in the reservoir to stimulate production, expelling drilling and fracturing fluids, and installing the production valves.
You will have strong working knowledge of completion equipment design calculations, reviewing design plans through to final approval, participating in the product development process and overseeing of prototype design and testing. Naturally, there is a requirement to ensure conformance with engineering design and applicable design standards, collaborating with customer drawing control systems and looking at intricate drawings and specifications. Able to identify manufacturing and design issues and solve at root cause, having full accountability for the maintenance of design changes, delivering well-communicated responses to key stakeholders and customers.
