Cammach are delighted to be recruiting for an Estimator for a leading engineering & fabrication client based in Aberdeen. This is a permanent role and will be varied in size of projects and sectors. Applicants must have experience in the fabrication sector in a similar role.
ROLE
The main purpose of the role is to convert customer enquiries and opportunities into winning business proposals by quoting, delivery and commercial terms for products and services for various fabrications, pipework, tanks and pressure vessels to meet client requirements. The Estimator is part of a team and will work together and be supported by the Estimating Department to deliver proposals in the agreed timescales and to the level of quality expected by the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparing successful bids
- Collecting and gathering information used to produce estimates.
- Identifying and evaluating technical issues related to a particular project.
- Negotiating and obtaining best prices and quotes from suppliers / subcontractors
- Liaise efficiently with clients, contractors, and management.
- Researching the cost of items i.e. materials, transport, labour, etc.
- Working with the team to continually improve processes and capabilities.
- Attend meetings when required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Procurement / Sales background.
- Expert knowledge of use of Word documents and spreadsheets
- Cost modelling
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent level of numeracy
- Good verbal and communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Formal qualification in engineering discipline or relevant work experience
Salary dependent on experience.
