Vessel Manager - Oil & Gas industry

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Vessel Manager to join our client’s Operations team in a permanent, shore-based role in Aberdeen, supporting an upcoming contract. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role in a dynamic and pivotal position.

Specialising in offshore accommodation vessels for personnel working in the oil and gas industry, our client is looking for an exceptional candidate with international marine experience, ideally from the offshore oil and gas sector.

Position Overview: As the Vessel Manager, you will be a key player in ensuring the seamless execution of vessel operations. You will represent the company, maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, and drive the company’s success in the local market. This role demands a combination of operational expertise, leadership, and business acumen to deliver on performance, safety, and financial targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee vessel operations, ensuring contractual, safety, and performance standards are met.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing operational and contractual concerns.
  • Lead the team to ensure compliance with the company’s Safety Management System and implement necessary safety measures.
  • Manage operational budgets to achieve financial targets and maintain profitability.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, suppliers, and local partners.
  • Drive strategic initiatives aligned with the company core values and business objectives.
  • Participate in pre-mobilisation and end-of-contract meetings, ensuring comprehensive reporting and actioning of key learning points.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive senior-level experience in the marine and/or offshore oil and gas sectors.
  • Proven track record in vessel operations and service delivery.
  • A strong safety leader with a commitment to upholding high safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Experience in budget management and delivering on performance targets.
  • Proficiency in report writing and computer software.

Salary and other details:

Salary, up to £110k pa, depending on experience.Permanent position based onshore in the Aberdeen office (hybrid working with 3 days in office and regular visits offshore)Company pension, annual leave, bonus, and death in service to be confirmed upon application.
