We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Service Engineer to carry out maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on a range of specialised equipment. This role involves working independently and as part of a team to ensure that all activities are completed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct service activities, including refurbishment, upgrades, inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective actions.
  • Supervise and manage service projects where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide reports as required.
  • Build and sustain excellent relationships with customers, providing professional and friendly support.
  • Identify and communicate service and spare parts sales opportunities.
  • Offer feedback to internal teams to improve products and services.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental standards and site-specific rules.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members and trainees.
  • Manage subcontractors and oversee their work.

Experience:

  • Background in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, marine, military, or heavy engineering.
  • Candidates with significant practical experience, even without formal accreditation, will be considered.
  • Experience working in ports, onboard ships, or offshore environments is highly advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a bonus.
  • The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and remain calm under pressure.
  • Right to work in the UK.
