Position: Mechanical Technician

Location: Aberdeen, UK

Salary: £36,000 - £38,000 per annum (with 1.5x overtime rate)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Are you an experienced Mechanical Separation Technician looking for an exciting opportunity in Aberdeen? Our prominent oil services company in Dyce is seeking a dedicated professional to join our dynamic team. If you have a passion for mechanical systems and thrive in hands-on roles, this could be the perfect fit for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain decanter centrifuges, disc stack separators, and other separation equipment.
  • Conduct detailed surveys both onshore and offshore.
  • Install, commission, and service mechanical separation equipment.
  • Project manage complete process packages, including tanks, pumps, and chemical injection systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently.
  • Prepare daily reports and documentation as required.
  • Conduct lab tests and train personnel when necessary.
  • Maintain and service equipment in the workshop.
  • Update QHSE documents related to the equipment.
  • Prepare equipment for mobilisation.
  • Support the Service Delivery Supervisor and Manager in ensuring safe and timely project completion.

Additional Activities:

  • Learn and understand the rental separation equipment provided by the company (training will be provided).
  • Assist the service delivery supervisor or manager in project management, liaising with suppliers and clients.
  • Maintain asset maintenance and certification files.
  • Ensure certification documents for offshore rental projects are completed.
  • Assist with current equipment modifications.
  • Maintain safety awareness for all company equipment.

Training & Competence:

  • Attend required training to achieve competency.
  • Complete company-set competency records.

Health & Safety:

  • Adhere to company QHSE policies and procedures.
  • Understand and follow work procedures, addressing potential hazards before commencing work.

Personal Specifications:

  • Qualifications/Education:
    • High School – Standard Grades/National Fives.
    • Fluent in English (oral and writing).
    • Qualifications in mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical engineering (NC, HNC, HND, apprenticeship).
    • Offshore experience with current Survival and medical certifications.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of fluids separation systems and technical understanding.
    • Ability to fully service OEM disc stack centrifuges and troubleshoot issues.
