MS433 – Offshore SurveyorÂ

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum OTE (including offshore uplift)Â
Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Offshore Surveyor on behalf of one of our Clients. The primary role of the Offshore/Hydrographic Surveyor is to provide reliable survey and positioning services on both Company and Client operated offshore assets, including equipment installation, calibration and operation together with data acquisition, data quality control, field reporting and final reporting. Â
The expectation is that you would work 6 months offshore, with a maximum single trip of 4-5 weeks, although some projects are shorter than the 4 week period. We cannot guarantee 6 months offshore work as project schedules and personal leave may impact this. The offshore uplift is £195 per day.Â
This role would suit ex-military candidates and applications from former service personnel are encouraged.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical experience and support to the wider survey team.
- Preparation, installation and calibration of survey equipment during mobilisations and demobilisations.
- Ensure acquisition logs are maintained and reporting templates and other appropriate documentation are utilised.
- Ensure quality control and assurance is performed on all survey data acquired.
- Assist projects to be completed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist with line planning and other project preparations.
- Work closely with the senior surveyors and the project surveyor on project deliverables.
- Assist Survey Manager in maintaining Up-to-date departmental documentation.
- Assist writing mobilisation reports, field memos and field reports as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in geomatics, surveying or similar.
- Minimum three years’ offshore survey operations. Experience in rig positioning, construction support, seabed mapping, and land survey will be beneficial.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of hydrographic theory including geodesy, hydrography, statistics, offsets, calibrations, tides and basic oceanography.
- Experience in the operation of industry standard survey equipment including DGPS systems, attitude sensors, telemetry systems, subsea acoustic positioning systems, MBES systems, digital video. recording systems, Total Stations/RTK systems, and Geophysical data acquisition systems.
- Knowledge and experience of the EIVA software suite NaviPac, NaviScan, AutoCAD (preferred), Excel and Word.
- Full driving licence.
