Our client Repsol are currently recruiting for a Regulatory Coordinator to join their team based in Aberdeen on a contract basis initially Ideally they are looking for someone with experience as a stakeholder relations coordinator or a Consent Management Coordinator preferably with a background within the Oil and Gas market. Job Profile Summary
The Regulatory Coordinator will be responsible for developing and managing clear regulatory messaging in collaboration with the Head of HSE and UKLT. The role requires to proactively report on regulatory matters, identifying risks and their potential impacts on operations. Support the Chief Commercial & Stakeholders Relations Officer in implementing communication strategies, maintain a comprehensive regulatory management system, and serve as the focal point for all regulatory correspondence.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Head of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and UK Leadership Team (UKLT) to manage regulatory messaging, ensuring alignment with company policies and objectives
• Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and industry standards, assessing potential impacts on company operations and advising internal stakeholders accordingly
• Proactively report on all regulatory matters, including key risks and messages, to relevant stakeholders and leadership teams
• Support the Chief Commercial & Stakeholders Relations Officer in developing and implementing communication strategies related to regulatory matters, ensuring transparency and effective stakeholder engagement
• Build and maintain a regulatory management system to store actions, letters, and documentation, ensuring accessibility and compliance with record-keeping requirements
• Develop and manage a Regulatory Calendar to track regulatory deadlines, submissions, and compliance activities
• Administer a system to communicate any changes in regulations to the business, providing timely updates and guidance to internal teams
• Attend all meetings with regulatory agencies and minute company discussions, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up on action items
• Act as the focal point for all regulatory correspondence, serving as the primary recipient of external written communications and managing distribution to appropriate stakeholders
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement initiatives, including meetings, forums, and consultations with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and community groups
• Analyze and interpret incoming regulatory communications, identifying potential implications and collaborating with stakeholders to develop appropriate responses
• Participate in stakeholder meetings and public hearings to represent the companys position on regulatory matters
• Support Chief Commercial & Stakeholders Relations Officer in crisis communication strategies related to regulatory incidents
Professional Skills and Experiences
• Strong administrative skills, including the ability to organize and maintain regulatory documentation, schedules, and correspondence efficiently
• In-depth regulatory understanding, with knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to Oil & Gas industry
• Experience with federal, state, and/or local regulations governing exploration, drilling, production, and transportation activities is preferred
• Proficient in managing and maintaining data related to permits, emissions, and other regulatory requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory concepts and requirements clearly and concisely
• Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, regulatory agencies, and external partners to achieve regulatory compliance and objectives
Educational Qualification and Certifications
• Bachelor's degree/diploma or equivalent in Environmental Science, Petroleum Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
• Membership in professional organizations like the Energy Institute (EI) or the Society for Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is preferred
• Certified Regulatory Affairs Professional (CRAP) and OPITO Regulatory Awareness Course (OPITO RAC) are amongst the preferred certifications
Other Requirements
• The role may require travelling offshore for certain business requirements
