Giving the candidate a full understanding of the role of a Quantity Surveyor but also the wider business, building upon their commercial awareness and skillset.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support project delivery, ensuring work is completed on or ahead of schedule and within budget
  • Assist with pre-construction activities such as pricing, payment terms, and contract documentation
  • Work with sub-contracted installers, managing payments and contract agreements
  • Handle day-to-day contract administration, including payment applications, variations, and notices
  • Collaborate with the finance team to manage cash collection and commercial risks
  • Prepare Monthly Cost Reports (MCR) and contribute to value engineering and cost management
  • Monitor and report on project costs and progress throughout the lifecycle of each project.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial understanding and financial skills, including budget control and cost reporting experience
  • Experience in contract administration and record keeping
  • Ideally experienced in the construction, contractor or manufacturing sectors
  • Full UK Driving Licence and a car
  • Degree qualified in a relevant field is preferred but not essential.
