Role Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Regional Director, the Head of Commercial will be responsible for accurately projecting and managing costs for all feasibility projects and at all stages of individual projects.

  • Lead and nurture the Commercial team, fostering a culture of development and high performance.
  • Play a key strategic role as part of the senior team to develop the strategy for the business going forward, identifying key risks and opportunities, and implementing appropriate actions.
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager/Director to prepare realistic Forecasts/Budgets
  • Produce monthly Site Analysis Sheets charting financial history of live sites for Management and Project team meetings
  • Work in partnership with the Construction Director to develop and implement a strategy for ensuring suitable labour and subcontractors are available for the business needs

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership and communication skills are essential.
  • Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the housebuilding market and risk management is preferred, however, it is not essential.
  • Qualifications: Must be a qualified Quantity Surveyor.
  • Proactive Approach: A proactive mindset with excellent multi-tasking, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and be commercially astute.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relocation: Our client is open to a relocation package for the right candidate.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar senior role.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a high-performing team.
  • Extensive cost management experience.
