Job Description

  • Job Title: Metering Engineer
  • Job Location: Aberdeen

As a Metering Engineer, you’ll be responsible to ensure all fiscal and allocation gas and oil metering facilities are maintained, whilst creating relationships between client and SGS group with the aim of significantly reducing the ‘Total of Ownership’ of the Fiscal, Allocation and environmental metering facilities and providing both onshore and offshore metering services.

Key Accountabilities;

  • Provision of engineer support on technical issues of Hydrocarbon Allocation & process modelling implementation.
  • Produce meter sizing calculations, design reviews & measurement uncertainty calculations for liquids & gas metering applications
  • Liaison with 3rd party metering personnel on fiscal metering system matters relating to the sites.  This may include arrangement of audit visits for the inspectors and accompanying them during their visits
  • Liaison with client representatives both onshore and offshore to identify and highlight any problem areas and any opportunities for improvements to the metering systems operation or efficiency
  • Review and update metering manuals and procedures, review measurement and allocation strategies
  • Produce and maintain mis-measurement reports register/progress tracker.
  • Prepare metering reviews & audits
  • Manage provision of and engagement of third-party contractors for contract execution.
  • Identify and action timely purchase, repair, calibration and recertification of field and test equipment.
  • Manage utilisation of SGS calibration and recertification activities for projects.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role

To be a successful candidate we are looking for someone who have experience within the oil an gas metering industry or have worked in a oil company.

it will be good to have, current Offshore Survival Certificate, current Offshore Medical Certificate but not a requirement, ISSOW course. Competent in use of KIMS, K-Trac, K-Log and FM2P and also have recognised technical formal qualification ONC/HNC/Degree
