Our client, a well respected player in their industry, is looking to add a new Testing Operative to their growing team in Aberdeen. To be considered for the role you must have the experience and background as detailed below. Core Purpose:The role involves coordination and control of testing and inspection activities to maximise efficiency and ensure product and service quality is maintained. The Testing Operative will ensure that the control of work in the testing & inspection area is preserved to maintain fleet availability.Health and Safety Responsibilities: * Ensure the health and safety of all staff under direct control or supervision. * Carry out all activities in a safe manner in line with current risk assessments and good working practices. * Report accidents/incidents in a timely manner. * Comply with the company's Health and Safety Policy.Quality Responsibilities: * Understand the areas of the ISO 9001 management system relevant to the role. * Comply with the company's Quality Policy. * Understand the company's targets and objectives.Environmental Responsibilities: * Comply with recycling standards using the correct disposal of items as per signs and bins provided. * Reduce energy consumption by turning off electrical equipment when not in use. * Report any spills immediately to the Group QHSE Team/Line Manager for proper cleanup. * Comply with COSHH assessments and use the correct PPE as required.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: * Prioritise work activities under the instruction of the Team Lead to meet customer requirements. * Participate in morning meetings with the Team Lead to plan and prioritise workload. * Carry out visual inspection and testing of all company assets on-site and off-site if required. * Note defects and faults, re-certify tanks/containers as per company procedure. * Update container certification on the company's fleet management system (CSAM). * Ensure all units and relevant equipment are inspected and tested to relevant legislative industry standards and specifications. * Check damaged slings, identify damage, and prepare paperwork for internal workshop repairs or third-party repairs. * Unload and load third-party transport using a forklift truck. * Maintain rigorous safety, environmental, and quality controls. * Complete all corresponding paperwork associated with testing and inspection activities. * Maintain the testing & inspection area in a safe and tidy condition. * Coordinate additional ad hoc tasks as designated by the Team Lead. * Liaise with office personnel regarding testing & inspection activities.Skills and Experience: * Previous Test and Inspection background - essential * Previous experience of working in a yard environment * Strong communicator * Ability to work as a team * Ability to prioritise workloadQualifications: * Certified to carry out testing to MPI level II - or equivalent depending on work region * Eddy Current certification - preferred * Forklift License - preferred * Working at Height certification - preferred________________________________________If you are a motivated individual with a background in testing and inspection, and you meet the qualifications and experience requirements, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
