Activus Recruitment is assisting our client in seeking a skilled and motivated Plant Workshop Foreman to join their team in Cove, Aberdeen. This is a key role for an experienced professional looking to lead a team while ensuring the highest maintenance and repair standards for plant and equipment.

Job Purpose

The Plant Workshop Foreman will supervise the maintenance and repair of plant and equipment, ensuring professional standards are met and workshops are run efficiently and in compliance with HSE legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervisory and Operational Leadership
    • Oversee the effective and efficient running of workshops and associated yard areas.
    • Ensure safe and environmentally sound work systems are maintained at all times.
    • Supervise plant fitters and monitor the quality of their work, identifying improvement opportunities where needed.
  2. Maintenance and Repairs
    • Ensure maintenance and repairs are carried out cost-effectively.
    • Provide technical advice and guidance on parts purchasing and stock management.
    • Monitor and control the oil and lubricants issue system for plant and equipment.
  3. Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of plant and equipment maintenance on job sheets.
    • Accurately code timesheets and ensure timely submission.
    • Contribute to the plant and equipment replacement plan with recommendations for replacements and disposals.
  4. Team Development
    • Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of department personnel to maintain high standards of performance and discipline.
    • Foster a team-oriented environment by promoting motivation, collaboration, and support within the workforce.
  5. Representation and Ambassadorship
    • Represent the company professionally, ensuring polite communication with visitors, customers, and staff.
