We are currently recruiting an Multi Skilled Maintenance operative to join our client in their Northern Scotland site, to provide, safe proactive as well as reactive maintenance.
Job description:
Ideally being based within easy travel of the Aberdeen and or Keith area as this one would be the base site, but short-term assistance with temporary accommodation could be available for 3 months of the probation period. Aspects of the role can occasionally be physically demanding due to maintaining heavy machinery and restricted access in certain conditions as such a reasonable level of physical fitness would be required
Hours of work to be flexible due to the nature of the roll dependant on requirements, but the norm being flexible 5 days in 7. Working approx. 152hrs usually dayshift i.e., 8am to 4pm flexible in a 4-week period.,
Purpose
- To Ensure buildings and equipment function safely and at peak efficiency to maintain reliability and production capabilities
- In the result of breakdowns to actively identify root cause and bring the equipment back into safe service as quickly as possible.
- To actively seek and identify cost effective improvements to site assets and equipment, improving safety, efficiency and reliability
Key Responsibilities
- Mainly looking after day-to-day maintenance of buildings and equipment including but not limited to process equipment across 4 sites
- To ensure effective communication of information between sites and engineering Department
- To diagnose faults and to test, repair and maintain Mechanical / Electrical equipment
- To observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure and provide CMMS data
- Contact engineering support or OEM's and other suppliers for technical support as and when required and expedite parts when not available on site
- Working as the First Line Response Technician
- Being part of the mobile engineering team to assist with larger reactive and maintenance issues and projects when required, on 4 sites, with occasional travel to central Scotland if required
- Use and support CMMS programmes for workshops and stores
- Continuous transfer of knowledge and best practice

Skills and Experience
- Driving Licence
- Skilled tradesman / fitter / maintenance operative or (semi-skilled Fitter with a wealth of on-the-job experience willing to prove ability through demonstration)
- Ideally with previous Mechanical or Electrical experience
- Proven experience within a Mechanical, Electrical, Fabrication or plumbing environment
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective planner and organiser
- Strong ability to make logical decisions that will resolve potential problems
- Positive with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Ability to prioritise own workload to achieve operational and personal targets
