Teaching Assistant SEN
Prospero teaching are working with a SEN School based in Monmouth, the school deals with students with additional needs, mental health issues and learning difficulties.
Your role is to build a connection with the young people and act and a mentor and role model for the students.
You must have a strong TA or Tutoring background with students from PRUs or SEMH schools.
Due to the barriers the pupils have in the classroom, the role will entail forging strong relationships with pupils.
The role will see you using lots of mentoring skills (similar to that used in sports, drama, counselling) to help the individual engage with the school.
You will support the pupil in the classroom and out of the classroom on a more vocational basis.
The position is open to all experienced and those who have a strong background in mentoring children and young adults. Depending on performance, the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in a similar setting / SEMH/ PRULEVEL 2 Teaching Assistant/or equivalent and above is preferableGCSE Maths and English and Computer literateTO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UKHold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new applicationProvide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
