Finance Manager

Abergavenny, Monmouthshire (Hybrid 3 days p/w)

£60-65,000 + bonus + bens

Based in Abergavenny, our client, a dynamic subsidiary of an innovative multinational corporate, is looking for a Finance Manager in their UK Head Office, working on a hybrid basis (3 days p/w)

Reporting to the Financial Controller the Finance Manager will be responsible for producing the monthly management reporting, quarterly VAT and annual statutory accounts and managing audit requirement.

Duties will include:

  • Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company, supporting the Financial Controller
  • Preparation and reporting of weekly cash flow forecast
  • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports
  • Prepare and deliver timely analysis of key business reporting
  • Monthly review and preparation of accounting entries for payroll
  • Prepare and report monthly tax calculations to corporate under UK and USGAAP
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared on a monthly basis, all balances correct and differences investigated
  • Oversee the management of the fixed asset register, ensuring complete and accurate reporting
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and annual VAT returns
  • Prepare year end statutory accounts under UKGAAP (FRS 101 & 102)
  • Manage the year end SOX and statutory audit requirements, including liaison with external auditors
  • Manage annual internal audit
  • Manage the annual corporations tax submission requirements
  • Adhere to all statutory requirements, HMRC, ONS and external audit
  • Manage queries and communications from Corporate
  • Ongoing process improvements, with focus on finding efficiencies and automation
  • Lead and develop a team of 2
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required by the CFO & FC

The Ideal candidate for the Finance Manager:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Experienced with preparing UKGAAP statutory accounts (FRS101, FRS102 and IFRS16) and ideally USGAAP & SOX experience
  • Developed IT Skills with strong Excel and ERP systems experience
  • Strong leadership and time management skills
  • Proactive team worker, self-starter, able to work well on their own without supervision
  • Excellent verbal, communication and influencing skills across a range of environments.
