We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide 1:1 support for a male pupil displaying challenging behaviours. This role requires a compassionate individual who can build a strong bond with the student, helping him engage positively with his educational journey. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in sports, as this is a passion of the student and a potential avenue for connection and engagement.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to the student, focusing on creating a supportive, understanding, and motivating learning environment.
  • Utilise interests such as sports to build rapport and make educational activities more engaging for the student.
  • Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviours in a calm and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to ensure the student’s educational needs are met.
  • Monitor and record the student’s progress, adapting techniques as needed to maximise effectiveness.
  • Encourage and support the student’s social, emotional, and academic development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a similar role, particularly in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with young people.
  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to improving student outcomes.
  • Knowledge of or a strong interest in sports, which will be used to engage the student.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and the welfare of children.
