Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant - Monmouth

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream primary school in Monmouth. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to students with additional needs, helping them thrive in a mainstream classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access the curriculum and engage with learning
  • Assist in the delivery of individual learning plans and strategies tailored to each student's needs
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and valued
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor and track student progress
  • Support students with both academic tasks and social/emotional development
  • Encourage and motivate students to build their confidence and independence
  • Help manage behaviour and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • GCSE's or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year working with children
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

Eligibility

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
