We are looking for a compassionate, committed, and motivatedNight Shift Leaderto joinour dedicated team in ourSpeysideCare Homein Aberlour, Moray.This is a permanent role, working part-time hours (14-hours per week).

Job Description

As a Night Shift Leader, you will be responsible for supporting the care, protection, and well-being of all individuals, by treating them with respect and dignity, assisting with their protection and promoting their independence. You will also be responsible for managing the home in the absence of the Care Home Manager.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Report, record and take immediate appropriate action of any issues regarding staff, residents or relatives or visitors.
  • Manage the staff off-duty, changes sheets and annual leave requests.
  • Assist and support the care staff in the delivery of care to residents.
  • Contribute to residents care planning and reviews by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care 6 monthly.
  • Prepare for and undertake physiological measurements to assist the nurses and G.Ps.
  • Administer medication to residents. Administer report on and monitor individuals medication. Order, store, record and dispose of medication safely.
  • Undertake all necessary administrative duties and liaise closely with the administrative staff at Parklands.
  • Monitor and maintain the safety and security of the working environment. Promote health and safety in the working environment and minimise risks arising from emergencies.
  • Work with relatives and others to support them, when their loved ones have a life limiting illness, assist other staff and families, with palliative and terminal illness care. Support residents through the dying process and relatives through bereavement.
  • Develop your own knowledge and practice, by attending training and staff meetings and reflecting on own practice.
  • Work within the policies and procedures in the Parklands Quality Management System. (Q.M.S).
  • Monitor residents weights and assist with the Malnutrition Universal screening tool to prevent malnutrition.
  • Attend mandatory training in Moving and Handling, Health and Safety, Elementary Food Hygiene, Infection Control and First Aid, as appropriate to the job.
