Reed Procurement are working with a lovely manufacturer in the Newport Valleys area. They are seeking a Purchasing Manager to join their organisation on a full-time basis. The company has grown significantly over the past 2 years, with further growth planned over the next few years. This is an on-site role is perfect for someone who thrives on building strong supplier relationships, negotiating the best deals, and staying ahead of market trends. This would be best suited to someone who has managed a small team at Purchasing Manager level, or a Senior Buyer who has had a taste of Management/Mentoring and wanting to build on their experience.
What You'll Do:
- Strategic Purchasing: Source and acquire goods, materials, components, and services that meet our high standards for cost, quality, and delivery.
- Supply Chain Management: Ensure a seamless supply of essential goods and materials, proactively addressing any potential disruptions.
- Market Analysis: Keep a pulse on market trends, competitor activities, and supplier performance to drive informed decisions.
- Cost Optimization: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.
- Innovative Processes: Develop and refine procurement processes to enhance efficiency and add value to our operations.
- Supplier Negotiations: Negotiate contracts, secure the best prices, and establish favourable terms with suppliers.
- Performance Reviews: Regularly assess supplier performance to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
- Professional Relationships: Maintain a consistent and professional approach in all supplier interactions.
- Compliance: Adhere to company guidelines, code of conduct, and procurement policies during negotiations and contract awards.
- Alternative Sourcing: Explore new and alternative sources for goods and materials.
- Tender Evaluation: Assess and evaluate tenders and quotations from potential suppliers.
- Order Management: Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations and organizational goals.
- Supplier Research: Conduct thorough research on existing and new suppliers to ensure the best partnerships.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues with suppliers.
- GDPR Compliance: Ensure all confidential information is handled in accordance with GDPR regulations and company policy.
- Stock Management: Assist in the annual stock take to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Team Support: Provide guidance and training to the Buyer, helping them grow and excel in their role.
