Full Time - Hours 8am to 4pm or 9am-5pm(40 hrs per week), occasional Saturday mornings.
We are looking for a skilled Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join our clients friendly team in providing high-quality automotive service and maintenance. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, a passion for problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct preparation maintenance and servicing tasks on a variety of vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake inspections, ready for sale
- Diagnose and repair vehicle systems and components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Utilise diagnostic equipment and technical resources to identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues effectively.
- Perform vehicle inspections to identify any safety concerns or potential problems.
- Complete repairs efficiently and accurately, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Communicate with customers regarding recommended repairs, estimated costs, and repair timelines.
- Keep accurate records of all services and repairs performed on vehicles.
- Stay updated on new automotive technologies and repair techniques through ongoing training and professional development.
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues and work effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to diagnose and resolve vehicle issues.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic codes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Relevant vocational qualifications in automotive engineering or a related field.
- Certification from the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) or equivalent is desirable
- MOT Tester licence desirable but not essential
