Finance Director | Blaenau Ffestiniog, Wales | £120,000 - £140,000 + suite of benefits

The Opportunity

Are you a proactive Finance Director / CFO looking for an interesting and exciting new challenge?

You’ll be joining a growth SME amid a phase of change. Joining the exec leadership team as the number one in finance you’ll be supporting the MD/Owner through a scale up from £30m turnover the £50m+.

The group has been through a journey of transformation post-covid and there is still plenty to do in terms of tactical input and strategic planning to ensure the business is in optimum shape and positioned for the next push!

You’ll manage the full train set in finance - it’s a 'hands on’ role but a highly capable FC is already in situ so there is a solid infrastructure in terms of the core controls and the routine reporting.

You’ll be a natural business partner with high gravitas and a proactive, high energy & professional approach. It’s a manufacturing / production setting and you need to be in your comfort zone when it comes to getting out into the factory and understanding the levers of success, cost, profit, margin and growth.

You need to be comfortable managing external relationships (banks / auditors / potential investors etc). Experience of acquisition / merger or taking a business through sale might be useful - you need to be an experienced senior finance leader who loves being part of growth and change in an ambitious manufacturing setting.

About you:

  • You love the cut and thrust of a setting where 'stuff gets made’ - you enjoy working with ops leaders and you are able to influence great decision making.
  • You can work with owners of a business to maximise opportunities and manage risk.
  • You don’t mind change - you can deal with obstacles, challenges and you enjoy navigating choppy waters that might arise on the growth journey.
  • You are comfortable rolling up sleeves and getting into the weeds of the numbers where required.
  • You’re strategically aware and can work with the exec team toward a 3-5 year plan.
