Role Overview:Our client, a well-established corporate/commercial law firm, is seeking a Corporate/Commercial Associate to join their team in North Wales. The successful candidate will work alongside senior fee earners, assisting on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. You will support the department's business development efforts, particularly focusing on the North Wales office.
Key Responsibilities:- Work on a variety of corporate/commercial matters, including:
- Drafting, reviewing, and advising on a range of legal documents
- Assisting with transactional work, including due diligence and document drafting
- Conducting research across various legal areas
- Supporting business development initiatives and attending networking events to grow the firm's presence in North Wales
Essential:
- 3-5 years PQE with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Contract drafting, review, and negotiation
- Corporate governance and general corporate advice
- IT and intellectual property (IP) matters
- Assisting with transactional matters, including drafting ancillary documents and handling due diligence
- Strong legal technical knowledge with practical application
- Proficiency in MS Word and Outlook
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and achieve billing targets
Desirable:
- Experience in charity law, third-sector organisations, or housing associations is advantageous
Essential:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team
- Self-motivated and proactive with strong organisational skills
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Confident in marketing and networking activities
- Flexible and willing to support colleagues as needed
- Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential
