Interim Audit Coordination Consultant - 3-4 month contract - Abingdon with good hybrid working

Our client, a Public Limited Company (PLC) is seeking an interim Audit Coordination Consultant to assist with their audit processes and ensure efficient collaboration with their external auditors. This contract role requires excellent project management, communication, and negotiation skills to coordinate stakeholders and keep the audit running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Group Financial Controller and Head of Internal Controls.
  • Manage the audit process, ensuring all team members know their roles, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with the auditors, ensuring their turnaround times meet expectations and identifying inefficiencies such as duplicated requests or unnecessary meetings.
  • Review weekly timesheets from the auditors to track overruns or scope changes, and negotiate to mitigate or reduce these where possible.

  • Strong negotiation skills to ensure deliverables are met on time and within scope.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to handle multiple stakeholders.
  • Effective communication, comfortable engaging at all levels of the organisation.
