Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a committed and experienced Accounts Assistant to work for organisation in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

Role: Accounts Assistant

Salary: £25,000 - £27,000

Location: Abingdon

Holiday Entitlement: 25 Days Holidays

Pension Contribution: 8% Employer

Hours: Full-time - 37.5 hours per week

Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant:

  • Support the preparation of Management accounts, accruals and prepayments
  • Produce monthly Sales figures reports
  • Identifying cost and efficiency savings for the business
  • Assist with audits, VAT returns, and support month-end or year-end reporting
  • Process standing order donations and charity vouchers
  • Be part of the twice-yearly royalty's process
  • Process electronic book sales (Amazon, Lightning Source)
  • Provide routine and ad-hoc analysis as requested
  • Process standard and non-standard journals
  • Process data, from client records, into accounting software
  • Maintain day to day financial transactions and ensure timely recording of entries
  • Purchase invoice processing and preparation of payment runs
  • Control the petty cash
  • Bookkeeping duties using computerised accounting systems -XP
  • Ensure invoices are correctly coded, authorised, and filed
  • Prepare fortnightly BACS payment runs, maintaining creditor terms

About you:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work to deadlines and multi-task
  • Excellent numeracy skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Reliable and consistent
  • Flexible with a positive attitude towards sharing tasks and workload
  • Ability to develop and manage internal and external relationships.
  • A positive attitude, ability to take on variety of tasks; flexible and adaptable and able to work well under pressure.
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent team player willing to 'chip-in' to get the job done.
  • A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
