Reed Scientific is working with leading Biotech concerned with increasing crop yield on a global scale. They currently have the need for an experienced scientist in the field of entomology to support the R&D team with identifying new products relating to insect food and nutrition.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new and bespoke diets for insects.
  • Utilize nutritional/biochemistry expertise to solve complex entomology challenges.
  • Prepare project plans, design experiments, and analyse data to evaluate insect diets.
  • Communicate outcomes of processes and experiments with the team and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with established procedures, regulations, and health and safety standards.

Skills, Experience, and Education Requirements:

  • MSc or PhD in a relevant Life Science discipline (e.g. biochemistry) or relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in developing nutritionally complete diets for animals or insects.
  • Experience with animal husbandry and/or colonies of invertebrates is desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent timekeeping and responsiveness.
