Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support for Year 2 Pupil with ASD

A primary school in Abingdon is looking for a Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 child with ASD. This child has sensory needs and requires close supervision to support their learning and prevent negative behaviours. The school needs someone to start immediately due to the urgency of the child's needs.

• Pay pro-rata - £83.50 - £90 per day *£18,532 - £19,980 per annum*
• 1:1 support and conduct interventions
• Year 2
• Abingdon
• ASD student in a mainstream school
• Full time, term time - 08:30am - 3:15pm

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with ASD.
• Implement individual interventions to support learning and behaviour.
• Offer close supervision to ensure a safe and structured environment.
• Work closely with the SENDCo, teachers, and external professionals.
• Support sensory needs, transitions, and social development.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with children with ASD.
• Knowledge of sensory processing and behaviour management.
• A calm, patient, and proactive approach.
• Able to work closely with staff and parents.
• Available immediately for a long-term role.

Job Details:

• Location: Abingdon (easily accessible for Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support from Wantage, Oxford, Didcot, Cumnor, Wallingford)
• Pay: £83.50 - £90 per day
• Contract: 39 weeks per year (£18,532 - £19,980 per annum if all year round, pro-rata)
• Hours: Full-time, term-time only
