Role: Electronics Hardware Engineer

Location: Abingdon

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Role:

You will be reporting directly to the Technical Manager and your main responsibilities will be the design and development of Digital or Analogue circuits. Your technical input will require you to have or acquire a good level of understanding of electronic hardware and embedded software (aka Firmware).

You will get the opportunity to be involved in small and manageable projects for the company as part of your learning journey, from concept and specification, design through prototyping and testing to preparation for manufacture. A keen and responsible attitude to work and an ability to show initiative in all responsibilities and tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Design of electronic/electrical circuits
  • Writing firmware/software in C/C++
  • Assembly of electronic/electrical prototypes
  • Building of electrical assemblies
  • Organising Test & Measurement strategies
  • Procurement & Purchasing
  • Circuit Fault-finding abilities
  • Managing individual projects
  • Produce Bill of Materials (BOMs) and cost-out projects & assemblies
  • Design and manufacture review with the Management Team
  • Production of technical literature

Experience needed ( In some, if not all )

  • Digital & Analogue electronics design
  • Embedded software development
  • Applying Electronic/Electrical Principles to Circuit Design
  • Applying Electro-mechanical Principles
  • Knowledge of using test equipment, i.e. oscilloscopes, protocol analysers etc.
  • Experience with using Schematic Capture applications & tools
  • Test & Measurement Systems
  • PCB Board Assembly & Prototyping
  • Understanding of Renewable energy solutions
  • Understanding of Automation
  • Ability to take designs from initial concept through to successful completion
  • Championing initiatives that will reduce the carbon & manufacturing costs
  • Working within and collaborating with team
