The Client

We are currently working on behalf of a rapidly expanding, independent specialist with an impeccable reputation. The company is a specialist regional contractor across the drainage, environmental, rail, telecoms and traffic managements industries. They pride themselves on developing their employees and delivering excellent levels of customer service and client satisfaction.

Due to recent expansion, the company has a key requirement for a Financial Administrator on a permanent basis out of their head office in Abingdon.

Main Purpose of the Role

You will be responsible for providing accurate and efficient purchasing and purchase ledger functions that support the operational and financial requirements of the business. Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with prior experience in a similar role and excellent Microsoft Office skills and experience working on QuickBooks. Other responsibilities will include:

Working on QuickBooks, processing income and expenditure including banking, purchase order invoicing, petty cash management, payroll and basic credit control.

Cash Book entries and reconciling bank statements.

Raising sales invoices, sending out monthly statements and chasing payments.

Providing clerical support to the Finance Manager and Directors, including letter writing, memos and management reporting.

Maintaining a well-ordered filing system, stationary replenishment and personnel file management.

Preparing payroll on QuickBooks for submission to the company accountant.

Experience required

Experience working on QuickBooks accountancy software

Y You will be confident in dealing with customers on the telephone

Strong administration skills

Proficient in spoken / written English

Able to work on own initiative

Have strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met

Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office including Word and Excel

The Rewards

The starting salary is 26,000 - 28,000 per annum and they will be entitled to 22 days annual leave, plus the public & bank holidays with a Christmas shutdown. The company also offer additional incentives, career progression opportunities and competitive pension scheme.
