Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established Planning and Design Practice with the hire of a Senior Town Planner to their team in Oxford (Abingdon).

Our client's planning and design experts cover regions in the country where development growth is accelerating, including London, the South East and Midlands. In this role, you will work on a varied caseload covering a range of urban and rural sites with an opportunity to expand your planning skills and improve the built environment alongside an award-winning planning team. Projects typically fall into the retirement, residential and education sectors.

There is a working-from-home policy of two days per week, and you can also work from the West London office if this suits.

To be considered, you should have

  • an RTPI-accredited planning qualification
  • either holding or working towards chartered membership of the RTPI
  • suitable level of experience to take on a Senior Town Planner role
  • a particular interest in working on the environmental and planning aspects of major and minor development projects and policy studies.
  • must be able to work in a team environment and able to manage competing demands and prioritise tasks for themselves and others with the key aspect being to meet clients' expectations.
  • excellent report writing, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • candidates should also be self-assured, and confident, enjoy the prospect of developing their own client base and make a real contribution to the prosperity of the Company and themselves.
