We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Fleet Manager who can ensure the efficient and optimised operation of our company's fleet of 450 vehicles. The successful candidate will foster a strong team atmosphere, demonstrating excellent leadership and man-management skills to keep the team motivated and focused on achieving both daily and long-term goals. You will ensure the fleet remains compliant with company, client, and VOSA standards while actively maintaining communication with garage partners to secure cost-effective repairs and minimise vehicle downtime. A key responsibility will be maximising the fleets operating income while strategically driving down operating costs to ensure profitability and efficiency.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Proactively manage the fleet to minimise vehicle downtime and ensure maximum fleet utilisation through proactive rotation.
Ensure rental agreements are processed correctly, and Fleet Technicians follow strict check-in and check-out guidelines for all vehicles.
Build and maintain relationships with garages to secure cost-effective repairs, while holding them accountable for meeting deadlines.
Work closely with other departments like Insurance, Audit and Compliance to ensure smooth business operations.
Manage stock for all vehicle parts held on-site, ensuring availability and proper inventory levels.
Raise and update invoices for damages on a daily basis within the system.
Identify and manage high-risk drivers to ensure fleet safety.
Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers to support fleet operations.
Analyse data to improve fleet performance and operational efficiency.
Use Excel daily for data management and compliance tasks.
Continuously evaluate processes and provide recommendations for improvement.
Exhibit excellent communication skills, including the ability to have difficult conversations when necessary.
Demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.




Experience and skills:


Proven experience in fleet management.
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
Proven track record in planning to cover fleet network requirement peaks.
Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
Experience in leading and managing a team effectively.
Proficiency in using Excel for data management and analysis.
Computer literate with excellent communication skills.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to continuously improve operations.
Driven and passionate about the logistics industry.
