We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our clients Engineering Department. In this role, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing the companys manufacturing capabilities, driving innovation, and taking responsibility for introducing and implementing new products and processes.

Key Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Process Development & Implementation: As the Manufacturing Engineer you will have responsibilities to design and improve manufacturing processes to enhance standard times, repeatability, and scalability. Lead process changes from concept to full implementation with minimal operational disruption.
  • Technology & Process Innovation: Drive Industry 4.0 initiatives by identifying and implementing new manufacturing technologies, automation solutions, and advanced fabrication techniques (cutting, welding, forming). Align technology adoption with our company's Technology Roadmap.
  • Project Planning & Change Management: Develop structured project plans for process improvements, new product introduction (NPI), and technology implementation, ensuring projects stay within scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Engineering Specifications: Define technical requirements for production tooling, jigs, and fixtures. Collaborate with internal designers and external subcontractors to deliver effective solutions.
  • Process Validation: Ensure new and modified processes meet quality, performance, and production requirements while identifying and mitigating risks related to process capability and manufacturability.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Implement process improvements that reduce material waste, improve energy efficiency, and support company sustainability goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, and Procurement teams. Serve as technical liaison with customers on NPI projects, managing the transition from development to production.
  • Documentation & Training: Develop comprehensive process documentation and provide training to ensure smooth adoption of process changes.

Personal and Educational Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering, time-served apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Strong project engineering skills with ability to manage projects from concept to implementation
  • Experience designing tooling, jigs, and fixtures, with ability to create engineering specifications
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience in sheet metal processes and knowledge of pressure vessel industry regulations
  • Self-starter who can work independently while contributing to the team
  • Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and metal forming techniques
