Echelon Engineers is recruiting on behalf of an innovative technology company developing cutting-edge solutions for the energy storage sector.

We are seeking an experienced Head of Mechanical Engineering to lead the development of proprietary reactor hardware and pilot plant infrastructure. This role involves managing a team, developing technical documentation, overseeing supplier management, and driving continuous improvement projects in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) with 10+ years of post-graduate experience
  • Expertise in process equipment engineering or capital equipment projects
  • Proven leadership in recruiting and managing engineering teams
  • Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred) and knowledge of technical drawing standards (BS8888/ASME Y14.5)
  • Experience in supplier management, engineering project governance, and quality assurance
  • Knowledge of hazardous process systems, FEA modeling, and Six Sigma tools is advantageous
