Academics Ltd is working with an outstanding school in Abingdon that is looking to appoint a Head of PE to join them in September 2025. We are seeking a qualified teacher (with QTS) who is not only a skilled practitioner but also someone who can lead and inspire a department, uphold high expectations, and drive continuous improvement in Physical Education.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced PE Teacher looking to step into a leadership role, as well as those already in leadership positions seeking a new challenge.

The school is looking for a Head of PE who:

  • Is an experienced and passionate educator with a clear vision for the PE department
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of teachers
  • Is committed to raising standards of teaching and learning in Physical Education across the school
  • Has a strong understanding of the science of learning and is dedicated to continuous professional development
  • Has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and can work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents
  • Possesses a desire and passion to make a real difference to the lives and life chances of students
  • Has QTS (with a PGCE in Secondary Physical Education)
  • Has experience working with students in KS3-KS5, with a strong track record of success in PE
  • Is ready to take on the responsibility of managing the PE curriculum and developing strategies to enhance the department's performance
