We are supporting a good co-education secondary school in the heart of Abingdon who are committed to providing high-quality education and fostering a supportive learning environment. They are looking for a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join them on a contract basis to cover maternity leave from November 2024 through to potentially the end of the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the UK National Curriculum for KS 3-5.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience.
- Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching English at KS 3-5 within the UK curriculum.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
